Police are investigating after the sound of gun shots were reported in Maple Ridge on Saturday evening.
Ridge Meadows RCMP confirmed they responded to the area of Selkirk Avenue and 223rd Street sometime Saturday overnight after the sound of what sounded like gun shots rang out.
“This is an isolated incident (and) there is no threat to public safety,” said police in a brief update Sunday morning.
“Because the investigation is in early stages, no further details are available.”
No information was available Sunday about any possible victims or suspects.
More details are expected on Tuesday following the holiday weekend.
