Golden Ears Park closed due to emergency situation

Golden Ears Park is closed Sunday due to an emergency situation.

The Maple Ridge park had been closed in recent weeks after eager visitors packed the parking lot and prompted a number of traffic issues.

Sunday’s closure, however, was due to an unknown emergency situation, according to the park’s official Twitter account.

“Due to an emergency situation, all access to #GoldenEars Park is CLOSED until further notice,” the update read.

The closure applied across the board, including to those with day-use passes.
